Brut "X" is extremely dry, extremely bright,extremely expressive. The dosage is "sugar free" but still addsjust the right amount of "polish."

Food Pairing
A perfect sipping wine, ideally paired with briny hors d'oeuvressuch as smoked salmon on potato cakes, fresh oysters withmignonette or poached shrimp with remoulade sauce.

New release, not yet reviewed. The previous vintage was rated 92points in Wine Spectator and 90 points in Wine Enthusiast. The 2006 vintage was awarded 92 points by Wine Spectator. Winemaker David Munksgard found distinctlydifferent yeast strains at three of our top Chardonnay blocks atIron Horse. He fermented each block separately, then blended themtogether to make this wine, which Wine & Spirits Magazinedescribes as "a combination of depth and delicacy on the level of aGrand Cru."

Morrel mushrooms, roasted onions, rich, grilled fish (king salmon,swordfish), wood roasted game birds, cream sauces, bacon, Gruyeremacaroni and cheese.

Sitting amongst our southern-most vineyardblocks is an romantic old cattle corral, which explains why we callthose blocks the Corral Vineyard. The 2010 Corral Vineyard was madefrom 75% Old Wente Clone and 25% Rued Clone, two of our favorite‘Heritage Clones’ which explains the elegant, impressive longfinish.

Tasting Notes and Food Pairing
By nose and mouth; minerality, savory and ripe pear, with animpressive long finish. Definitely a formal dining wine. We suggestFrench classics, such as Sole Meunière, Coquilles St. Jacques,blanquette de veau and American classics, like chicken anddumplings.

The current vintage recieved 93 points by Wine Enthusiast. The 2006vintage received 91 points from Wine Enthusiast. Wine Enthusiastalso rated the previous vintage 92 points. The 2004 received 93points in Wine Enthusiast and 90 points in Wine Spectator. The 2003was named an "Editor's Choice" with a "93-point" rating in WineEnthusiast and Andrea Immer chose it for her select wine club. Wine& Spirits awarded the 2000 91 points.

LD Stands for Late Disgorged, meaning agedlonger, which makes the wine richer and creamier. Made only inexceptional vintages, the blend is composed of our favorite lots ofChardonnay and Pinot Noir from that year. We use all cuvee or freerun juice. Stylistically, this bubbly has an exciting, underlyinghint of youthfulness that belies the wine’s age. This is IronHorse's "tete de cuvee", our top of the line.

Food Pairing
Best matched with "earthy" foods such as mushrooms, truffles, foiegras, sweet breads and even butternut and other wintersquashes.

Wine Enthusiast and Wine & Spirits have both awarded thisrelease 93 points. The 2002 vintage earned 93 points in RobertParker' Wine Advocate. That vintage was named the sole AmericanSparkling wine in Wine Enthusiast's Top 100 Wines of the Year witha 96 point rating and described as "deliriously delicious."
